About VSL Projects
Renovations should feel exciting, not like a second full-time job.
VSL Projects is a women-led, fully managed home-renovation company serving Pretoria East, Centurion, Montana, Waverley and surrounding areas. We manage bathroom, kitchen and whole-home renovations from the first site visit to final handover. That means one clear point of contact, a structured project plan, coordinated specialist trades, thoughtful finish selections, regular quality checks and clear communication throughout.

Why I Started VSL Projects
Hi, I’m Marietjie van Staden, founder of VSL Projects.
I fell in love with renovation the first time I watched a room transform.
While working with a plumbing company, my favourite part was always returning to site once the finishes started going in — that point where the dust and building work begin turning into a space that feels like a home again.
But I also saw the other side of renovations.
A plumber needed a decision from the homeowner before the tiler could continue.
Cupboards would arrive while electrical points were still being moved.
One trade was ready to start while another was not yet finished.
And somewhere in the middle of it all was the homeowner — working, raising a family and trying to coordinate a project they had never managed before.
Most of the work would eventually come together. But the process was often far more stressful than it needed to be.
That is what VSL Projects was built around. I wanted to create a renovation company where the homeowner could still be involved in the decisions that matter, without becoming the person responsible for carrying messages between trades, chasing deliveries or figuring out what needs to happen next.
Your home renovation should still feel like your project – but managing every moving part should not become your second job.

Every renovation has many moving parts. What separates a smooth one from a stressful one is whether somebody is coordinating them.
VSL manages the planning, design guidance, trade sequencing, deliveries, site protection and quality checks so that each stage is ready before the next begins.
We work with specialists in their respective trades. Your plumber is not installing your tiles, and your tiler is not making electrical decisions. Each part of the renovation is handled by the appropriate skilled team, while VSL keeps the wider project connected under one coordinated renovation plan.

How Your Renovation Comes Together
Careful planning makes the site work feel more predictable, and the decisions easier to make.
We start with your home and how you want it to work
At the first site visit, we discuss what you want to change, what is not working for you now, how the space needs to function, who will use it and how you want it to look and feel.
We ask you to share inspiration images, practical frustrations and ideas you have collected. We look at the space together, talk through the possibilities and discuss the practical considerations that may affect the renovation.
We plan the layout and design
We develop the layout and design direction, then present it for your feedback. Once you’re comfortable with the plan, we finalise the quotation, mood board and overall finish direction.
Materials, colours, tile layouts, fitting positions and smaller details are considered together.
We build a clear project plan
Once the quotation is accepted, we prepare the project plan: site setup and protection, project phases, trade sequence, deliveries and expected timing.
Before work starts, we meet with you again to review the plan, confirm the agreed start date and explain what will happen at each stage.
If you will be living in the home, we also discuss access, noise, dust and which areas need to remain usable.
We help you make confident finish choices
A tile, paint colour or quartz sample can look very different in a showroom than it does inside your home.
Before selections are finalised, we place samples in your actual space, so you can see how they work with your lighting, existing finishes and room proportions.
We manage the work through to handover
We coordinate deliveries, skips, specialist trades and site logistics.
We communicate with teams on site daily, so potential delays or dependencies can be identified early.
Each week, we review progress, look ahead for anything that could affect the plan and send you a clear update — so you are never left guessing what is happening in your home.

We’re not a general handyman or standalone maintenance company, so we don’t quote for isolated repairs, such as replacing a mixer or fixing a leak, unless the work is part of a wider renovation.
